Alice had her first novel While the Music Lasts published by Orion in 1994. It came out in paperback a year later, having sold over 20,000 copies, and the film rights to New Penny Productions (John Mortimer's company).

Three years later her second novel Ghost Music was published. It was also signally successful, appearing in paperback in 1998.

Also in 1997 her first play, Beating Time, was put on at the Lewisham Theatre. Alice is currently working on her third novel and on a second play.
